Description

These Spinach & Feta Pastry Rolls are a delightful savory puff pastry treat filled with a flavorful mixture of spinach, garlic, onions, and feta cheese. Perfect for parties or a delicious snack!

Puff Pastry:

  • 1 sheet frozen puff pastry, thawed

Filling:

  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1 small onion, finely chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 5 oz fresh spinach, chopped
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1/4 teaspoon ground nutmeg
  • 1/2 cup crumbled feta cheese
  • 1 egg, beaten (for filling)

For Egg Wash:

  • 1 egg, beaten

Optional Topping:

  • Sesame seeds

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven: Preheat the oven to 400°F (200°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. Sauté vegetables: Heat olive oil in a pan, sauté onion and garlic until soft. Add spinach, cook until wilted. Season with salt, pepper, and nutmeg. Let cool slightly.
  3. Prepare filling: Mix in crumbled feta and beaten egg.
  4. Roll out pastry: On a floured surface, roll out the puff pastry. Spread the filling over the pastry, leaving a border.
  5. Roll pastry: Roll tightly into a log, cut into pieces, and place on baking sheet.
  6. Bake: Brush with beaten egg, sprinkle sesame seeds. Bake for 20–25 minutes until golden brown.
  7. Serve: Let cool slightly before serving.
