Description
Crispy and gooey Air-Fried Babybel Cheese rounds are a delicious and easy-to-make snack. Coated in seasoned breadcrumbs and air fried to golden perfection, these bites make a perfect appetizer or party treat.
Ingredients
Scale
Cheese
- 8 Babybel cheese rounds
Breading Mixture
- 1 cup breadcrumbs (panko or regular)
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1 teaspoon onion powder
- 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
- Salt and pepper to taste
Other
- 1 large egg
- Cooking spray
Instructions
- Unwrap Cheese: Carefully remove the wax coating from each of the 8 Babybel cheese rounds and set them aside for breading.
- Prepare Breading: In a bowl, beat the egg thoroughly. In a separate bowl, combine breadcrumbs, garlic powder, onion powder, Italian seasoning, salt, and pepper, mixing well to distribute the spices evenly.
- Coat Cheese: Dip each Babybel cheese round into the beaten egg, ensuring full coverage, then roll it in the breadcrumb mixture, pressing gently to create an even, thick coating.
- Preheat Air Fryer: Set your air fryer to 375°F (190°C) and allow it to preheat for a few minutes to reach the desired temperature.
- Air Fry Cheese: Arrange the coated cheese rounds in a single layer inside the air fryer basket. Lightly spray with cooking spray to encourage crispiness. Air fry for 6-8 minutes, checking frequently to prevent overcooking, until they turn golden brown and crispy on the outside.
- Cool and Serve: Remove the cheese rounds from the air fryer and let them cool for about a minute to allow the cheese to set slightly. Serve warm with your favorite dipping sauce and enjoy the gooey, crispy delight.
Notes
- You can use either regular or panko breadcrumbs depending on your desired texture; panko will yield a crunchier crust.
- Keep an eye on the cheese while air frying as cooking times may vary slightly depending on your air fryer model.
- For extra flavor, add a pinch of cayenne pepper or smoked paprika to the breadcrumb mix.
- Serve immediately as the cheese is best enjoyed warm and gooey.
- These bites pair well with marinara, ranch, or honey mustard dipping sauces.
