Ingredients
Scale
Wontons
- 18 Wonton Wrappers
- 1 can Cherry Pie Filling
- 2 Tablespoons butter, melted
- Vegetable Oil Cooking Spray
Toppings
- Cinnamon Toast Crunch Cinnamon Topping (or cinnamon sugar)
- Powdered Sugar
Instructions
- Prepare Wontons: Place a large piece of parchment paper on the counter and lay the wonton wrappers flat on the paper to work on assembling them.
- Brush with Butter: Melt the butter in the microwave and brush it around the edges of each wonton wrapper to help seal them and add flavor.
- Fill and Seal: Spoon a generous amount of cherry pie filling into the center of each wrapper. Then, pull up opposite edges and pinch them together in the center, gathering all four corners into a pointed top to form the wonton shape.
- Prepare Air Fryer: Spray the basket of the air fryer with vegetable oil cooking spray to prevent sticking before placing the wontons inside.
- Add Cinnamon Sugar and Air Fry: Sprinkle the cinnamon sugar topping over the wontons and air fry them at 350°F (175°C) for 8 minutes. Check halfway through at about 4 minutes to ensure even cooking and adjust placement if necessary.
- Finish and Serve: Once the wontons are golden brown and crispy, remove them from the air fryer. Dust with powdered sugar, serve immediately, and enjoy your delicious cherry pie wontons!
Notes
- Ensure not to overfill the wontons to prevent leaking during cooking.
- If you don’t have Cinnamon Toast Crunch cinnamon topping, a mix of cinnamon and sugar works perfectly as a substitute.
- Check the wontons halfway through cooking to avoid burning and ensure even browning.
- Serve warm for best taste and texture.
- These can be made ahead and reheated in the air fryer for a few minutes to regain crispiness.
