Ingredients
Scale
Burger Patties
- 1 pound ground turkey
- 1 large egg
- 1/4 cup grated onion (red or yellow)
- 1/2 tablespoon olive oil
- 1 teaspoon Dijon mustard
- 1 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce
- 1 teaspoon dried parsley
- 1/4 teaspoon garlic powder or 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 3/4 teaspoon seasoning salt
To Serve
- 4 burger buns
- Toppings of choice (lettuce, tomato, cheese, pickles, etc.)
Instructions
- Combine Ingredients: In a mixing bowl, combine the ground turkey, egg, grated onion, olive oil, Dijon mustard, Worcestershire sauce, dried parsley, garlic powder, and seasoning salt. Mix gently with your hands or a spoon just until combined, being careful not to overmix to avoid dense burgers.
- Shape Patties: Shape the mixture into 4 patties about 1/2 inch thick. Make each patty about 1/2 inch larger in diameter than your burger buns to account for shrinkage during cooking.
- Preheat Air Fryer: Preheat your air fryer to 360°F (182°C) for 5 minutes to ensure even cooking.
- Cook Patties: Place the patties in the air fryer basket and air-fry at 360°F for 8 minutes. Flip the patties and continue cooking for an additional 4-6 minutes, or until the internal temperature reaches 165°F (74°C) for safe consumption. Flipping helps maintain patty shape, though it is not necessary for even cooking.
- Rest and Toast Buns: Remove the patties and let them rest for 2-3 minutes to allow juices to redistribute. During this time, quickly toast the burger buns in the air fryer until lightly browned.
- Serve: Assemble the burgers by placing the cooked patties on the toasted buns and add your favorite toppings. Serve immediately and enjoy!
Notes
- Do not overmix the burger mixture to keep the patties tender and juicy.
- Make patties slightly bigger than buns as they shrink while cooking.
- Flipping the patties in the air fryer is optional but recommended for better shape.
- Use a meat thermometer to ensure patties reach a safe internal temperature of 165°F.
- You can add cheese slices on top during the last 1-2 minutes of cooking if desired.
- This recipe can be customized with various seasonings or toppings to suit your taste.
