Description

These Asian Turkey Meatballs are a flavorful and healthy twist on a classic dish. Made with a blend of aromatic ingredients like ginger, garlic, and soy sauce, these tender meatballs are perfect for a quick weeknight meal or as a party appetizer. Baked to perfection, they are juicy on the inside and slightly crispy on the outside, making them a crowd-pleaser for all occasions.

Ingredients

Scale

For the Meatballs:

  • 1 pound ground turkey
  • 1/4 cup panko breadcrumbs
  • 1 large egg
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tablespoon fresh ginger, grated
  • 2 tablespoons green onions, finely chopped
  • 2 tablespoons soy sauce
  • 1 tablespoon sesame oil
  • 1 tablespoon hoisin sauce
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper

For Cooking:

  • 1 tablespoon vegetable oil
  • 1 tablespoon sesame seeds, optional, for garnish
  • Additional chopped green onions, for garnish

Instructions

  1. Preheat the Oven: Preheat the oven to 400°F (200°C) and prepare a baking sheet with parchment paper or grease it lightly.
  2. Mix the Ingredients: In a large bowl, combine ground turkey, breadcrumbs, egg, garlic, ginger, green onions, soy sauce, sesame oil, hoisin sauce, salt, and pepper. Gently mix until just combined.
  3. Form Meatballs: Shape the mixture into meatballs about 1 1/2 inches in size and place them on the baking sheet.
  4. Bake: Brush or drizzle the meatballs with vegetable oil and bake for 18–20 minutes until cooked through and browned.
  5. Garnish and Serve: Garnish with sesame seeds and green onions before serving.

Notes

  • Pair these meatballs with rice, noodles, or steamed vegetables for a complete meal.
  • You can use ground chicken instead of turkey for a variation.
  • For a spicier kick, add 1/2 teaspoon of chili garlic sauce or sriracha to the meat mixture.
