Description

This Bang Bang Salmon recipe delivers tender, flaky salmon fillets coated in a sweet, spicy, and creamy Bang Bang sauce. It’s quick, flavorful, and perfect for weeknight dinners or entertaining guests. The combination of sriracha, mayo, and honey creates a bold sauce that caramelizes beautifully when baked or seared.

Ingredients

Scale

Salmon and Seasoning

  • 4 salmon fillets (about 6 oz each)
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil

Bang Bang Sauce

  • 1/2 cup mayonnaise
  • 2 tablespoons sriracha sauce
  • 2 tablespoons sweet chili sauce
  • 1 tablespoon honey
  • 1 tablespoon lime juice
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon smoked paprika

Garnish (optional)

  • Chopped green onions
  • Sesame seeds

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven and prepare pan: Preheat the oven to 400°F (200°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper to prevent sticking and allow easy cleanup.
  2. Make the Bang Bang sauce: In a small bowl, combine the mayonnaise, sriracha, sweet chili sauce, honey, lime juice, garlic powder, and smoked paprika. Mix until the sauce is smooth and well blended.
  3. Prepare the salmon fillets: Pat the salmon fillets dry with paper towels to help the sauce adhere better and ensure even cooking. Season both sides with salt and pepper.
  4. Apply sauce and bake: Place the salmon fillets skin-side down on the lined baking sheet. Spoon or brush a generous layer of the Bang Bang sauce over the top of each fillet, reserving a small amount for finishing.
  5. Bake the salmon: Bake in the preheated oven for 12–15 minutes, or until the salmon is cooked through and flakes easily with a fork.
  6. Broil to caramelize: (Optional) Broil for the last 1–2 minutes to caramelize the sauce and add a slight crispness on top.
  7. Garnish and serve: Drizzle the reserved sauce over the cooked salmon fillets. Garnish with chopped green onions and sesame seeds, if desired, then serve immediately.

Notes

  • For a crispier texture, pan-sear the salmon before baking or cook it entirely on the stovetop.
  • You can swap salmon for shrimp or chicken using the same Bang Bang sauce.
  • Check labels on sauces to ensure they are gluten-free if needed.
  • Adjust spice levels by modifying the amount of sriracha to your preference.
