Ingredients
Scale
Ingredients
- 1 box (12.5 oz) Kellogg’s Corn Pops cereal
- 1 package (11 oz) Kraft caramel squares
- 1 cup (2 sticks) unsalted butter
- 1/4 tsp salt
Instructions
- Prep: Line a 13x9x2″ pan with foil and lightly brush the bottom and sides with butter. Alternatively, use a large rimmed cookie sheet to make smaller squares. Unwrap the caramel squares so they are ready to melt.
- Melt Caramel Mixture: In a large soup pot or Dutch oven (at least 5 quarts), melt together the caramel squares, 2 sticks of unsalted butter, and 1/4 teaspoon salt over medium-low heat. Stir continuously until the butter is fully incorporated and the mixture is smooth and creamy.
- Combine with Cereal: Immediately add the Corn Pops cereal to the melted caramel mixture. Use a large spoon to carefully stir, scraping from the bottom of the pot to ensure all cereal pieces are evenly coated with caramel.
- Transfer and Set: Quickly transfer the caramel-coated cereal into the prepared foil-lined pan. Use the empty cereal bag to gently push and distribute the mixture evenly in the pan, pressing down gently. Allow the treats to cool and set at room temperature.
- Serve: Once set, lift the treats out of the pan using the foil edges. Cut into squares and serve.
Notes
- For easier cutting, chill the treats for 30 minutes before slicing.
- Make sure to stir the caramel mixture continuously to prevent burning.
- You can substitute Kraft caramel squares with any good quality caramel candies if desired.
- Press the mixture gently in the pan to avoid crushing the cereal but ensure it’s compact.
- Store treats in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 3 days to maintain freshness.
