Description

This Cheesy Chicken Bacon Ranch Stuffed Bread is a deliciously hearty and flavorful meal perfect for a cozy dinner or a game day snack. It features a crusty French or Italian bread loaf filled with a savory mixture of shredded chicken, crispy bacon, creamy ranch dressing, and a gooey blend of mozzarella and cheddar cheeses. Baked to golden perfection and seasoned with garlic powder and melted butter, this stuffed bread offers a satisfying combination of textures and flavors that will delight your taste buds with every bite.

Ingredients

Scale

Bread

  • 1 loaf French or Italian bread

Filling

  • 2 cups cooked shredded chicken
  • 1 cup cooked and crumbled bacon (about 6–8 strips)
  • 1½ cups shredded mozzarella cheese
  • ½ cup shredded cheddar cheese
  • ½ cup ranch dressing
  • 2 tbsp chopped green onions (optional)

Topping

  • 1 tbsp melted butter
  • 1 tsp garlic powder (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat Oven: Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C) and line a baking sheet with foil or parchment paper for easy cleanup.
  2. Prepare the Bread: Slice the loaf of French or Italian bread lengthwise, carefully hollowing out both halves to create space for the filling while maintaining the bread’s structure.
  3. Mix Filling: In a large bowl, combine the cooked shredded chicken, crumbled bacon, ranch dressing, shredded mozzarella, shredded cheddar cheese, and chopped green onions if using. Mix thoroughly to evenly distribute all ingredients.
  4. Stuff the Bread: Spoon the filling mixture evenly into the bottom half of the hollowed bread, pressing gently to compact the mixture slightly, then place the top half of the bread back onto the filled bottom.
  5. Brush and Season: Brush the top of the stuffed bread with melted butter and sprinkle garlic powder over it if desired to enhance flavor and browning.
  6. Bake: Place the stuffed bread on the prepared baking sheet and bake in the preheated oven for 20–25 minutes or until the top is golden brown and the cheese inside is melted and bubbly.
  7. Cool and Serve: Remove the bread from the oven and allow it to rest for 5 minutes. Then slice into 6–8 thick rounds and serve warm.

Notes

  • To save time, use rotisserie chicken or leftovers for the shredded chicken.
  • If you prefer, low-fat cheese varieties and bacon can be used to reduce fat content.
  • Optional green onions add a fresh, mild bite but can be omitted or substituted with chives.
  • Ensure the bread is hollowed carefully to avoid breaking the crust and maintain its shape during baking.
  • Serve with a side salad or dipping sauce for a more complete meal.
