Description

Cheesy Garlic Butter Chicken is a delicious and easy-to-make chicken dish that is perfect for a quick weeknight dinner. Tender chicken breasts are seasoned, seared, then smothered in a garlic butter sauce and topped with a gooey layer of melted mozzarella and Parmesan cheese. Serve this flavorful dish with your favorite sides for a satisfying meal.

Ingredients

Scale

Chicken:

  • 4 boneless, skinless chicken breasts
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • ½ teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil

Garlic Butter and Cheese:

  • 4 tablespoons unsalted butter
  • 4 garlic cloves (minced)
  • 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
  • ½ cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
  • 2 tablespoons fresh parsley (chopped, for garnish)

Instructions

  1. Season the Chicken: Season the chicken breasts with salt, pepper, and garlic powder on both sides.
  2. Sear the Chicken: Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Add the chicken and sear for 4–5 minutes per side until golden and cooked through. Remove chicken from the skillet and set aside.
  3. Prepare the Garlic Butter: Reduce heat to medium, add butter to the same skillet, and stir in the minced garlic. Cook for 1–2 minutes until fragrant.
  4. Assemble and Melt Cheese: Return the chicken to the skillet and spoon some of the garlic butter over each piece. Sprinkle mozzarella and Parmesan cheese evenly over the chicken breasts. Cover the skillet with a lid and cook on low for 2–3 minutes, or until the cheese is melted and bubbly.
  5. Finish and Serve: Sprinkle with Italian seasoning and garnish with fresh parsley before serving.

Notes

  • You can substitute mozzarella with provolone or a cheese blend for a different flavor.
  • Serve with pasta, rice, or steamed vegetables for a complete meal.
