Chocolate Coating
- 1 cup (175g) chocolate chips
- 2 tsp vegetable oil (or grapeseed oil, canola, peanut, or other neutral oil)
Fruit
- 500g / 1 lb fresh strawberries (~25 strawberries, depending on size)
Optional Coatings
- Desiccated coconut

Instructions
- Prepare Tray: Line a tray with baking paper (parchment paper) to set the dipped strawberries on and prevent sticking.
- Melt Chocolate: Place chocolate chips in a microwave-safe bowl. Microwave on high in 30-second bursts, stirring between each interval until the chocolate is completely smooth.
- Grip the Strawberries: Hold each strawberry by its stem or gather the leaves around the stem for a firm grip to dip easily.
- Dip Strawberries: Dip each strawberry into the melted chocolate, rolling it to coat most of the surface evenly, then place it onto the lined tray.
- Repeat Dipping: Continue dipping the remaining strawberries in chocolate and placing them on the tray.
- Add Optional Coatings: If desired, immediately dip the chocolate-covered strawberries into desiccated coconut, crushed nuts, sprinkles, or any other coating to add texture and flavor, then place back on the tray.
- Chill: Refrigerate the dipped strawberries for at least 30 minutes or until the chocolate coating is firm and set.
- Serve: Enjoy the strawberries within 12 hours of preparation to maintain freshness and optimal texture.

- Use good quality chocolate chips to ensure smooth melting and a glossy finish.
- Adding the vegetable oil to the chocolate helps create a smoother, shinier coating.
