Banana Chips Ingredients
- 2 ripe but firm bananas (yellow, just speckled)
- 1 tsp coconut oil (or olive oil)
- 2 tsp granulated sugar (or coconut sugar)
- ½ tsp ground cinnamon
- Pinch of salt (optional)
Instructions
- Prep the Bananas: Peel and slice the bananas into â…›-inch thick rounds, aiming for uniform thickness so they cook evenly in the air fryer.
- Coat with Oil & Cinnamon Sugar: In a small bowl, combine the sugar, ground cinnamon, and a pinch of salt. Lightly brush both sides of each banana slice with coconut oil, then sprinkle the cinnamon-sugar mixture evenly over them.
- Air Fry: Preheat your air fryer to 330°F (165°C). Arrange the banana slices in a single layer inside the air fryer basket. You may need to cook in batches to avoid overcrowding. Air fry for 8 to 10 minutes, flipping the banana chips halfway through to ensure even golden color and crispiness.
- Cool & Crisp Up: Once done, remove the banana chips from the air fryer and allow them to cool completely. They will continue to crisp as they cool. Store cooled chips in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 5 days.
Notes
- Use firm but ripe bananas to get the best crispiness.
- To keep chips crispy, make sure slices are as uniform as possible.
- If you want a sugar-free option, skip the sugar or substitute with a sugar alternative.
- The chips will crisp further as they cool, so don’t be alarmed if they seem a bit soft immediately after air frying.
- Store in an airtight container to maintain freshness and crispness.
