Description

This simple and refreshing Edamame with Sea Salt and Lemon recipe is a perfect healthy appetizer or snack. Tender boiled edamame pods are tossed with bright lemon zest and juice, and sprinkled with sea salt for a delightful balance of flavors. Ready in just 10 minutes, it’s a nutritious vegan dish packed with protein and fiber, making it an ideal guilt-free treat.

Ingredients

Scale

Ingredients

  • 1 pound frozen edamame in pods
  • 1 tablespoon sea salt
  • 1 lemon (zested and juiced)
  • Optional: extra sea salt for garnish

Instructions

  1. Boil the Edamame: Bring a large pot of water to a rolling boil. Add the frozen edamame pods and cook them for 4–5 minutes until they are tender but still firm to the bite.
  2. Drain and Season: Drain the cooked edamame and immediately transfer them to a large bowl while still hot. Sprinkle the sea salt, lemon zest, and freshly squeezed lemon juice over the pods.
  3. Toss to Coat: Toss the edamame pods thoroughly to evenly coat with the salt and lemon flavors. Taste and adjust by adding more sea salt if desired.
  4. Serve: Serve the edamame warm or at room temperature as a delicious, healthy appetizer or snack.

Notes

  • For an extra kick, add a pinch of chili flakes when sprinkling the edamame.
  • A drizzle of sesame oil can enhance the flavor.
  • This recipe works beautifully with either fresh or frozen edamame pods.
