Ingredients
Scale
Bread
- 2 rolls of refrigerated bread dough (e.g., Pillsbury bread dough)
Spread
- 1/2 cup mayonnaise
Meats & Cheese
- 3/4 lb deli ham slices
- 3/4 lb deli turkey slices
- 8 slices Colby jack cheese
- 10 slices cooked bacon
Vegetables
- 2 large tomatoes, sliced
- 1/4 cup thinly sliced red onion (optional)
- 2 cups shredded iceberg lettuce
Instructions
- Preheat the oven: Set your oven to 350°F to prepare for baking the bread dough ring.
- Shape the dough: Remove the refrigerated bread dough from its packaging and place the rolls into a greased bundt pan. Pinch the ends together to form a continuous ring shape.
- Bake the bread: Place the bundt pan in the oven and bake for 20-25 minutes, or until the bread turns golden brown. Once baked, invert the bread onto a wire rack and allow it to cool completely.
- Prepare the sandwich base: Carefully slice the cooled bread ring horizontally in half. Spread mayonnaise evenly on the top half of the bread.
- Layer the fillings: Arrange the Colby jack cheese slices first, then layer the deli ham, followed by turkey slices, cooked bacon, and sliced tomatoes on the bottom half of the bread.
- Add fresh veggies: Top the sandwich with shredded iceberg lettuce and thinly sliced red onion if using.
- Assemble the sub: Place the top half of the bread over the layered fillings, slice into portions, and serve.
Notes
- For a crispier bacon, cook the bacon in advance and drain well before adding to the sandwich.
- You can substitute different types of cheese or deli meats based on preference.
- The red onion is optional but adds a nice sharpness and crunch.
- Make sure the bread has cooled completely before slicing to keep it from becoming soggy.
- This sub is best served fresh to maintain the texture of the bread and fillings.
