Description

The Ike’s Place Jaymee Sirewich is a hearty and flavorful sandwich featuring a delicious combination of turkey breast, roast beef, and melted Swiss and provolone cheeses layered with lettuce, tomato, and pickled jalapeños, all complemented by Ike’s signature sauce. Toasted to perfection on a sandwich press, this sandwich is perfect for a satisfying lunch or quick dinner.

Ingredients

Scale

Sandwich

  • 1 sandwich roll (Dutch crunch or any soft roll)
  • 3 oz turkey breast, sliced
  • 3 oz roast beef, sliced
  • 2 slices Swiss cheese
  • 1 slice provolone cheese
  • 1/4 cup pickled jalapeños
  • 1/4 cup lettuce, shredded
  • 1 tomato, sliced

Sauce and Toasting

  • 2 tbsp Ike’s sauce (or a blend of mayo, mustard, and a dash of hot sauce)
  • Olive oil (for toasting)

Instructions

  1. Preheat Sandwich Press: Preheat your sandwich press or grill to medium heat to prepare for toasting the sandwich evenly.
  2. Prepare the Roll: Slice the sandwich roll in half and lightly spread olive oil on the inside of each half to help achieve a golden, crispy toast.
  3. Spread Sauce: On the bottom half of the roll, spread the Ike’s sauce evenly to add moisture and flavor.
  4. Layer Meats: Arrange the sliced turkey breast and roast beef evenly over the sauce layer.
  5. Add Cheese: Place the slices of Swiss cheese and provolone cheese over the meats to ensure melting and flavor.
  6. Add Vegetables: Top the cheese with sliced tomato, shredded lettuce, and pickled jalapeños for freshness and a spicy kick.
  7. Grill the Sandwich: Close the sandwich and place it in the sandwich press or grill. Press and cook for 3-4 minutes, or until the sandwich is toasted perfectly and the cheese has melted thoroughly.
  8. Serve: Remove the sandwich from the press, slice it in half if desired, and serve immediately. Enjoy your Ike’s Place Jaymee Sirewich with your favorite side dish!

Notes

  • You can substitute the sandwich roll with your preferred type of bread, but Dutch crunch is recommended for the authentic texture.
  • If you don’t have Ike’s sauce, mix mayonnaise, mustard, and a splash of hot sauce to mimic the flavor.
  • Adjust the pickled jalapeños quantity according to your preferred spice level.
  • For a vegetarian option, omit the meats and increase the cheese and vegetable layers.
