Ingredients
Scale
Puff Pastry Layer
- 1 package Puff Pastry Sheets (Use all-butter for richer flavor)
Cream Filling
- 8 oz Cream Cheese (Softened)
- 1 cup Heavy Cream (Whipped until fluffy)
- 1/2 cup Powdered Sugar
- 1 tsp Vanilla Extract (Consider pure vanilla for extra flavor)
Berry Layers and Garnish
- 2 cups Mixed Berries (Fresh blueberries, raspberries, and blackberries)
- 1/2 cup Berry Jam or Compote (Substitute with your favorite preserve)
- 1/4 cup Fresh Mint Leaves (Optional for garnish)
Instructions
- Preheat and Prepare Puff Pastry: Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper. Unroll the puff pastry sheets, prick them all over with a fork to prevent puffing, and bake for about 12-15 minutes until golden brown. Once done, cool completely on a wire rack.
- Make Cream Filling: In a mixing bowl, combine softened cream cheese, powdered sugar, and vanilla extract. Beat the mixture until smooth and creamy. Gradually add the heavy cream and whip until soft peaks form, creating a light and fluffy filling.
- Assemble Layers: On a serving plate, place one baked puff pastry sheet and spread a layer of cream filling evenly over it. Follow with a layer of berry jam or compote. Repeat this layering with the second puff pastry sheet, cream filling, and berry jam.
- Finish Assembly: Top the dessert with the final puff pastry layer. Spread the remaining cream filling on top, scatter fresh mixed berries generously, and dust lightly with powdered sugar for an elegant finish.
- Chill and Garnish: Refrigerate the assembled dessert lasagna for at least 1 hour to allow the flavors to meld and the layers to set properly. Just before serving, garnish with fresh mint leaves, slice carefully, and enjoy your decadent dessert lasagna.
Notes
- Use all-butter puff pastry for the richest and flakiest results.
- Allow puff pastry sheets to cool completely before assembling to avoid melting the cream filling.
- Feel free to substitute berry jam with any other fruit preserves to customize the flavor.
- This dessert is best served chilled, so be sure to refrigerate for at least an hour.
- For a lighter version, you can use reduced-fat cream cheese and light whipped cream.
