- 1 pound fresh green beans, trimmed
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- 3 cloves garlic, minced
- 1/4 teaspoon red pepper flakes
- 1/2 teaspoon dried oregano
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
- 1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese
- 2 tablespoons chopped fresh parsley (optional)
- 1 tablespoon lemon juice (optional)
Instructions
- Boil Green Beans: Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil. Add green beans and cook for 3-4 minutes until just tender. Drain and transfer to ice water, then drain again.
- Sauté Green Beans: Heat olive oil in a skillet, add garlic and red pepper flakes, sauté for 30 seconds. Add green beans, oregano, salt, and pepper. Cook for 4-5 minutes until heated through.
- Finish and Serve: Remove from heat, sprinkle with Parmesan and parsley, drizzle with lemon juice if using. Serve warm.
Notes
- You can use frozen green beans if fresh are unavailable—thaw and pat dry before sautéing.
- For a vegan version, omit Parmesan or use a plant-based alternative.
