Ground Beef:
- 1 pound lean ground beef
Seasoning:
- 3 cloves garlic, minced
- 1/4 cup low-sodium soy sauce
- 2 tablespoons brown sugar
- 1 tablespoon sesame oil
- 1/2 teaspoon crushed red pepper flakes (optional)
- 1/4 teaspoon ground ginger
Additional:
- 2 cups cooked white rice
- 2 green onions, sliced
- 1 tablespoon sesame seeds
- Steamed broccoli or sliced cucumber for serving (optional)
Instructions
- Cook the Ground Beef: In a large skillet over medium heat, cook the ground beef until browned, breaking it up with a spoon as it cooks. Drain any excess fat.
- Add Seasonings: Add the minced garlic and cook for 1 minute until fragrant. Stir in the soy sauce, brown sugar, sesame oil, red pepper flakes, and ground ginger. Let the mixture simmer for 2–3 minutes until slightly thickened.
- Serve: Serve the beef over bowls of warm white rice. Top with sliced green onions, sesame seeds, and optional steamed broccoli or cucumber slices.
Notes
- For a low-carb version, serve over cauliflower rice.
- You can also use ground turkey or chicken instead of beef.
- Adjust red pepper flakes to taste for more or less heat.
