Description

Loaded Shrimp Nacho Bomb Wraps are a deliciously cheesy and spicy twist on traditional nachos, wrapped in a warm flour tortilla. Featuring seasoned shrimp, melted cheese, crispy tortilla chips, and zesty salsa, these wraps make a perfect quick and satisfying meal or appetizer.

Ingredients

Scale

Shrimp Mixture

  • 1 pound of shrimp, peeled and deveined
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1 teaspoon chili powder
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Wrap and Filling

  • 4 large flour tortillas
  • 1 cup shredded cheese (cheddar or Mexican blend)
  • 1 cup tortilla chips, crushed
  • 1/2 cup salsa
  • 1/4 cup sour cream
  • Fresh cilantro for garnish (optional)

Instructions

  1. Season the Shrimp: In a bowl, combine olive oil, garlic powder, onion powder, chili powder, salt, and pepper. Add the peeled and deveined shrimp and toss thoroughly to coat all the shrimp evenly with the seasoning mix.
  2. Cook the Shrimp: Heat a skillet over medium heat. Place the seasoned shrimp in the skillet and cook for 2-3 minutes on each side, or until the shrimp turn pink and opaque, indicating they are fully cooked.
  3. Assemble the Wraps: Lay one large flour tortilla flat on a clean surface. Spread a layer of salsa evenly over the tortilla, then sprinkle crushed tortilla chips on top. Arrange cooked shrimp over the chips and generously top with shredded cheese. Carefully fold the sides of the tortilla inward and roll it tightly to form a wrap.
  4. Cook the Wraps: Heat a clean skillet over medium heat. Place the assembled wraps seam-side down in the skillet and cook for 2-3 minutes on each side until the wraps are golden brown and the cheese inside has melted.
  5. Serve: Remove the wraps from the skillet and serve hot. Accompany with sour cream on the side and garnish with fresh cilantro if desired for an extra burst of flavor and freshness.

Notes

  • Use fresh or frozen shrimp, but ensure they are fully thawed before cooking.
  • Feel free to customize the cheese blend with your favorite varieties like Monterey Jack or Pepper Jack for a spicier kick.
  • If you prefer your wraps extra crispy, cook a little longer on each side, but watch carefully to avoid burning.
  • For a gluten-free version, substitute the flour tortillas with gluten-free tortillas.
  • Make sure not to overstuff the wraps to prevent them from breaking while cooking.
