Description

These adorable Mummy Twinkies are a fun and spooky treat perfect for Halloween parties or festive occasions. Coated in creamy white chocolate and decorated with edible eyes and chocolate drizzle to mimic mummy wrappings, they are easy to prepare and sure to delight both kids and adults.

Ingredients

Scale

Ingredients

  • 1 box of Twinkies
  • 1 bag of Ghirardelli white chocolate melting chips
  • 1 package of small edible eyes
  • 1 disposable piping bag
  • 1 cookie sheet fitted with wax paper

Instructions

  1. Unwrap Twinkies: Carefully remove the wrappers from all the Twinkies and place them individually on a cookie sheet lined with wax paper. Set aside.
  2. Melt White Chocolate: Melt the Ghirardelli white chocolate melting chips using a microwave or double boiler until smooth and fully melted.
  3. Coat Twinkies: Fully coat each Twinkie with the melted white chocolate, ensuring an even layer all around.
  4. Add Edible Eyes: While the white chocolate is still wet, gently place two small edible eyes on each Twinkie to create the mummy’s eyes.
  5. Chill Twinkies: Place the coated Twinkies on the wax paper and refrigerate them for 10 minutes to allow the chocolate to set.
  6. Prepare Piping Bag: Scoop any remaining melted white chocolate into a disposable piping bag. Cut a small tip off the end to create thin lines for decorating.
  7. Drizzle Chocolate: Remove the Twinkies from the fridge and drizzle the chocolate back and forth across each Twinkie using the piping bag to create the mummy wrapping effect.
  8. Set and Serve: Let the finished Mummy Twinkies sit at room temperature or refrigerate for 30 minutes to allow the drizzle to harden before serving.

Notes

  • Ensure the Twinkies are fully coated to get the smooth mummy look.
  • Use chilled hands or gloves when placing the edible eyes to avoid smudging the chocolate.
  • The drizzle can be made thicker or thinner by adjusting the size of the piping bag tip.
  • Store the Mummy Twinkies in the refrigerator to keep the chocolate firm until serving.
  • For a darker mummy effect, consider using milk or dark chocolate instead of white chocolate.
