Ingredients

Scale

Steak and Marinade

  • 1 lb of your favorite grilling steak
  • 1/2 tablespoon seasoned salt
  • 2 tablespoons oil
  • 1 tablespoon mustard (yellow or Dijon)
  • 1 tablespoon soy sauce
  • Pepper as desired
  • 1-2 garlic cloves, minced

Salad

  • 5 slices of bacon, cooked and diced
  • 6-8 cups salad/lettuce greens
  • ¼ red onion, sliced
  • 1/2 cup favorite vinaigrette or creamy dressing

Instructions

  1. Preheat and Season: Preheat your grill to high heat. Season the steak evenly with seasoned salt to enhance its flavor.
  2. Prepare Mustard Marinade: In a bowl, combine the oil, pepper, mustard, soy sauce, and minced garlic. Mix these ingredients thoroughly to create a flavorful marinade.
  3. Brush Steak: Using a brush, apply the mustard marinade to one side of the steak, ensuring it’s well coated for maximum taste.
  4. Grill Steak First Side: Place the steak on the hot grill, cover it with the lid, and expect some flare-ups which will quickly settle down. Grill for about 4 to 5 minutes.
  5. Grill Steak Second Side: Flip the steak and grill the other side for another 4 to 5 minutes for medium doneness, adjusting time if you prefer more or less cooked.
  6. Rest Steak: Remove the steak from the grill and allow it to rest on a cutting board for 5 minutes to retain its juices.
  7. Prepare Salad: While the steak rests, arrange the lettuce or salad greens and sliced red onion on a large shallow platter.
  8. Slice and Arrange Steak: Slice the rested steak against the grain into long diagonal slices and arrange the pieces over the salad greens.
  9. Add Bacon and Dressing: Sprinkle the diced crispy bacon over the salad and steak. Drizzle your favorite vinaigrette or creamy dressing on top.
  10. Serve and Enjoy: Serve immediately and enjoy your flavorful mustard glazed grilled steak with a fresh, vibrant salad.

Notes

  • Resting the steak after grilling is crucial to keep it juicy and tender.
  • You can adjust grilling time based on your preferred steak doneness.
  • Use yellow or Dijon mustard depending on your taste preference for the marinade.
  • Feel free to customize the salad with additional veggies like tomatoes or cucumbers.
  • If grilling isn’t an option, this steak can be pan-seared as an alternative method.
