Bread Pudding:
- 6 cups day-old bread, cubed (preferably French or brioche)
- 2 cups whole milk
- 1 cup heavy cream
- 4 large eggs
- 1 cup granulated sugar
- 1/2 cup unsalted butter (melted)
- 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
- 1/2 teaspoon ground nutmeg
- 1 tablespoon vanilla extract
- 1/2 cup raisins (optional)

Vanilla Sauce:
- 1/2 cup unsalted butter
- 1/2 cup granulated sugar
- 1/2 cup heavy cream
- 1 tablespoon vanilla extract
Instructions
- Preheat the oven: Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 9×13-inch baking dish with butter.
- Prepare the Bread Pudding: In a large bowl, whisk together milk, cream, eggs, sugar, melted butter, cinnamon, nutmeg, and vanilla. Add cubed bread and let it sit for 10–15 minutes. Stir in raisins and pour into the baking dish. Bake for 45–50 minutes.
- Make the Vanilla Sauce: Melt butter in a saucepan, add sugar and cream. Simmer, then remove from heat and stir in vanilla. Serve warm over bread pudding.

- For a richer flavor, use brown sugar or add nuts.
- Vanilla sauce can be made ahead and reheated.
