Ingredients
Scale
Liquids
- 1 bottle of dry red wine (750ml)
- 1/4 cup brandy
- 1/4 cup orange liqueur (such as triple sec or Cointreau)
- 2 cups soda water or lemon-lime soda
Fruits
- 1 orange, sliced
- 1 lemon, sliced
- 1 lime, sliced
- 1 cup of mixed berries (such as strawberries, raspberries, and blueberries)
- 1 apple, diced
Others
- 1/4 cup granulated sugar
- Ice cubes
- Fresh mint leaves, for garnish (optional)
Instructions
- Prepare the container. Begin by selecting a large pitcher or mixing bowl that will comfortably hold all the ingredients.
- Add the wine. Pour the entire bottle of dry red wine into the pitcher.
- Mix the spirits. Add the orange liqueur and brandy to the wine. Stir well to combine.
- Dissolve the sugar. Gradually mix in the granulated sugar, stirring until it is completely dissolved to sweeten the sangria evenly.
- Add the fruit. Add the sliced orange, lemon, lime, mixed berries, and diced apple to the wine mixture. Stir gently to combine all the fruits evenly without bruising them.
- Chill to infuse. Cover the pitcher with plastic wrap and refrigerate for at least 2 hours, allowing the flavors to meld together. For best results, let it sit overnight to deepen the taste.
- Prepare serving glasses. When ready to serve, fill each glass with ice cubes to keep the sangria refreshingly cold.
- Serve the sangria. Pour the sangria over the ice, filling each glass about 3/4 full to leave room for the soda.
- Add the fizz. Top each glass with a splash of soda water or lemon-lime soda for a refreshing fizz that brightens the drink.
- Garnish and enjoy. Garnish with fresh mint leaves if desired. Stir gently and enjoy your vibrant and fruity sangria.
Notes
- For a sweeter sangria, use lemon-lime soda instead of soda water.
- Allowing the sangria to chill overnight enhances the flavor infusion.
- Fresh mint is optional but adds a fresh aromatic note.
- Use a dry red wine like Rioja or Cabernet Sauvignon for best results.
- Adjust sugar quantity based on personal preference and sweetness of the fruit.
