Description

Delightful Spinach & Artichoke Wonton Cups combine creamy, cheesy spinach and artichoke filling baked into crispy, golden wonton wrappers—perfect as an appetizer or party snack.

Ingredients

Scale

Wonton Cups

  • 1 package of wonton wrappers (about 30 pieces)
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil

Filling

  • 3 cups fresh spinach, chopped
  • 1 can (14 oz) artichoke hearts, drained and chopped
  • 1 cup cream cheese, softened
  • 1/2 cup sour cream
  • 1/2 cup mayonnaise
  • 1 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon red pepper flakes (optional)
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. Preheat Oven: Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C) to prepare for baking the wonton cups.
  2. Cook Spinach: Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium heat. Add chopped spinach and cook until wilted, about 2-3 minutes. Remove from heat and cool slightly.
  3. Mix Cream Base: In a large mixing bowl, combine softened cream cheese, sour cream, and mayonnaise. Mix until smooth and well blended.
  4. Add Filling Ingredients: Stir in chopped artichoke hearts, cooked spinach, grated Parmesan, shredded mozzarella, minced garlic, onion powder, red pepper flakes (if using), salt, and pepper until thoroughly combined.
  5. Prepare Wonton Cups: Lightly grease a muffin tin. Press each wonton wrapper carefully into the muffin cups to form cup shapes.
  6. Fill Cups: Spoon the spinach and artichoke mixture generously into each wonton cup, ensuring they are well filled.
  7. Bake: Bake in the preheated oven for 15-20 minutes or until wonton cups are golden brown, crispy, and filling is bubbly and lightly golden on top.
  8. Cool and Serve: Remove from oven and let the cups cool for a few minutes before serving for best texture and flavor.

Notes

  • You can substitute fresh spinach with frozen spinach, thawed and drained, if fresh is unavailable.
  • Red pepper flakes are optional but add a pleasant subtle heat.
  • Make sure the cream cheese is softened to blend easily with the other creamy ingredients.
  • Wonton cups can be prepared a few hours in advance and baked just before serving.
