Description

Sweet & Savory Hot Honey Infused Feta Chicken Delight is a flavorful and irresistibly moist chicken dish combining the spicy sweetness of hot honey with tangy feta cheese and fresh herbs, seared and baked to perfection. This recipe offers a perfect balance of heat, creaminess, and freshness, making it an elegant yet easy-to-make entrée ideal for family dinners or entertaining guests.

Ingredients

Scale

Chicken & Seasoning

  • 4 pieces chicken breasts (skinless, boneless)
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil (for searing)
  • Salt, to taste
  • Pepper, to taste

Honey Glaze

  • 1/4 cup hot honey
  • 2 cloves garlic (minced)
  • Pinch of red pepper flakes (adjust based on spice preference)

Toppings & Garnish

  • 1 cup feta cheese (crumbled)
  • 1/4 cup fresh herbs (parsley or thyme)
  • 1 cup cherry tomatoes (optional)

Instructions

  1. Prepare the chicken: Pat the chicken breasts dry using paper towels, then season them generously on both sides with salt and pepper. Drizzle with olive oil and optionally marinate in the refrigerator for 30 minutes to 1 hour to enhance flavor and tenderness.
  2. Sear the chicken: Heat a medium skillet over medium-high heat and add a splash of olive oil. When the oil is hot and shimmering, carefully place the seasoned chicken breasts into the skillet. Sear for 5-7 minutes on each side until a golden-brown crust forms.
  3. Make the hot honey glaze: In a small saucepan over low heat, combine the hot honey, minced garlic, and a pinch of red pepper flakes. Warm the mixture gently for 3-5 minutes, stirring occasionally until fragrant and well blended.
  4. Bake the chicken: Transfer the seared chicken breasts to an oven-safe dish. Pour the warm hot honey glaze evenly over the chicken, coating each piece thoroughly. Bake in a preheated oven at 375°F (190°C) for 15-20 minutes, or until the chicken reaches an internal temperature of 165°F (74°C).
  5. Add toppings and serve: Remove the baked chicken from the oven. Generously sprinkle crumbled feta cheese over the hot chicken. Garnish with fresh herbs and, if desired, scatter cherry tomatoes around for a fresh, colorful finish before serving.

Notes

  • Marinating the chicken is optional but recommended for deeper flavor and tenderness.
  • Adjust red pepper flakes according to your preferred level of spiciness.
  • Use a meat thermometer to ensure chicken is cooked to a safe internal temperature of 165°F (74°C).
  • Oven-safe dishes can be glass, ceramic, or metal baking dishes.
  • Cherry tomatoes add a fresh, juicy element but can be omitted if preferred.
